  Barbara Titanish, HOPE founder and president, accepts a check for $1,000 from Jim Dunkelberger, vice president of Sertoma Club of York. The funds were raised at a chicken barbecue at New Freedom Center. HOPE (Help for Oncology Problems and Emotional Support) is an all-volunteer cancer support network.

The Andrew Wagman Memorial Golf Tournament Benefits Big Brothers, Big Sisters Andrew Wagman Memorial Golf Tournament Benefits Big Brothers Big Sisters of York County.   Kristina Bange, Big Brothers Big Sisters Board Secretary, and Lacenda Cook, BBBS S.M.A.R.T. Coordinator, receive a $10,000 check from Chris, Carol, Christian, and Lauren Wagman.  The check represents the proceeds from the Andrew Wagman Memorial Golf Tournament on August 18 at Honey Run Golf Club.  The annual tournament is held in honor of Andrew who was fatally injured in an automobile accident in February 2005.  The proceeds support the Students Mentoring and Achieving Together ("SMART") Program, which pairs senior high school volunteer mentors with elementary students who can benefit from the one-to-one relationship with an older student.
